The ESOL Instructor is responsible for planning and delivering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instruction, including classes and individual tutoring sessions for immigrants in Saratoga County, New York. This role involves developing curriculum and teaching materials, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Job Duties:
1. Provide ESOL Instruction:
- Plan and conduct ESOL classes for diverse groups of learners.
- Tailor lessons to students' proficiency levels and learning goals.
- Provide individual tutoring sessions as needed.
2. Assess and Track Student Progress:
- Evaluate students' English proficiency using standardized assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress.
3. Collaborate with Immigrant Services Staff:
- Coordinate with staff to identify student needs and refer to additional services.
4. Develop Curriculum and Materials:
- Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with program goals.
- Integrate virtual tools and resources as needed to support instruction.
5. Support Program Outreach:
- Assist with recruiting participants and promoting classes within the community.
