Baking for a Difference
Do good, and good will return to you. But what about “good” that comes in the form of baked goods? We believe it satisfies not only your soul, but your stomach, too!
And what better local business to know what it’s like to bake for a cause than The Bread Basket Bakery. The bakery recently opened a second location in Saratoga Springs, baking for a difference and donating all its profits to local charities in the Greater Capital Region to combat food insecurities.
“Assisting the community through a variety of ways is of the utmost importance to Business for Good and The Bread Basket Bakery, who has a long-standing history of donating to local charities,” said Connie Frances Avila, chief brand officer, Business for Good. “Opening this second location gives us the opportunity to reach more of those in need, and we couldn’t be more excited.”
The Bread Basket Bakery is one of many Owned, Accelerated and Assisted businesses and initiatives part of The Business for Good Foundation™ (BFG). Established in 2020, BFG invests in people to build better businesses, stronger communities, and a more equitable world.
Following a unique model, BFG drives progress in our communities in a multitude of ways – buying businesses and returning all profits to community causes; providing sustained investments in local entrepreneurship; and giving impactfully with targeted donations to treat community emergencies.
“Organizations such as Business for Good who are invested in our community enhance the overall well-being of our residents, businesses, and region at large,” said Todd Shimkus, president, Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. “We thank Business for Good and The Bread Basket Bakery for their commitment to service and giving back.”
With The Bread Basket Bakery’s second location, BFG will be able to impact the community at an even a stronger rate. During a recent ribbon cutting at the new location, the BFG team donated $25,000 to the South End Children’s Café in Albany. The café serves healthy, free dinner-time meals, along with homework help, academic enrichment, and mentoring, to children residing in the South End of Albany.
