Berkshire Bank, a relationship-driven, community-focused bank in New England and New York, puts its values into action to help communities achieve their potential by lending a helping hand. A part of their corporate culture is serving others in need with time, talent, and treasure. In doing so, they provide 16 hours of paid time off for employees to participate in community service projects to help nonprofits advance their missions. In addition, they host an annual signature day of community service, Xtraordinary Day, where they close their offices for the afternoon to allow all employees to work on projects that impact the communities where they do business. Xtraordinary Day will be held again this year on June 13, 2024.
This National Volunteer Week, Berkshire is proud to recognize the 89% of its employees, three times the national average, who participated in volunteer projects last year. Berkshire’s employees’ collective impact has provided more than 21,500 hours of volunteer service through 269 company projects. That service is valued at nearly $700,000.
