Two-day premiere automotive auction sold more than $7 million worth of vehicles and memorabilia, highest gross sales and best sell-through rate in auction history
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (Jan. 6, 2025) – The eighth annual Saratoga Motorcar Auction, which took place last fall on the grounds of the Saratoga Casino & Raceway, grossed more than $7 million in sales of vehicles and memorabilia – a new record.
The auction’s handle was $7,223,586 with a sell-through rate of 73 percent.
Spotlight consignments this year included three collections that chose the Saratoga Motorcar Auction as their auction house. Collections were from philanthropists Ed and Lisa Mitzen as well as Harry Enea. Additionally, five select vehicles from federal court-approved lots from Kris Roglieri to benefit the debtors.
“This year’s auction broke so many records, we’re nearly speechless,” said Megan Hennessey, executive director. “We continue to raise the bar for growing the auction into a destination event for both Saratoga Springs and the greater Capital Region. The auction remains our biggest fundraiser of the year and will strongly support our education programs for the coming year.”
The auction set records for the highest priced car ever sold, a 2006 Ford GT, which sold for $647,350. This year’s auction also had the highest number of vehicles sold over $100,000, the highest average sale price in auction history, the most memorabilia available, and the largest number of bidders. The top five vehicle sales were:
• 2006 Ford GT Heritage - $647,350
• 2014 Novitech Ferrari F12 N-Largo - $341,000
• 2021 Mercedes Benz Renntech R3 AMG GT Black Series - $308,000
• 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi Zegna Edition - $295,000
• 1970 Plymouth Cuda 426 HEMI 4 Speed - $253,000
“I couldn’t have been more proud of this year’s auction,” said Bill Windham, auction director. “Each year, we prove our mettle on bringing in the finest automobiles and best pieces of memorabilia. This year was certainly no exception – where we saw record-breaking prices for lots sold and an outstanding sell-through rate. We have our work cut out for us for 2025.”
The ninth annual Saratoga Motorcar Auction will take place on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 and Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025.
