SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Winter fun returns to downtown Saratoga Springs with the first-ever Saratoga Snow Day, a special community celebration designed for families, locals, and winter lovers alike. The free, all-ages event takes place Saturday, Jan.17, 2026, and invites residents and visitors to bundle up and enjoy a full day of snowy adventures, cozy experiences, and vibrant downtown energy.
What to Expect:
Saratoga Snow Day transforms the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs into a winter wonderland with fun activities and attractions including:
- Snowman Scavenger Hunt — Explore local shops to find festive snowmen and complete your scavenger form for family fun.
- Fire & Ice Trail — Warm up with specialty “fire and ice” food and drink offerings from participating restaurants and bars, each serving up creative winter-themed bites and beverages.
- Free Family Movie — Enjoy a complimentary winter movie screening at The Saratoga Springs City Center at 11 a.m. (film to be announced), plus a free flannel photo contest.
- Flannel Friday & Après Ski Parties — Kick off the weekend with a flannel-themed evening at Night Owl on Friday and continue the fun Saturday night with après ski vibes, live DJs, and community cheer.
- Fun for Kids — Winter educational programs will be offered at The Children's Museum at Saratoga for young eventgoers to learn about the snowy season.
Participating Businesses:
Downtown restaurants and venues such as Bailey’s Café, Cantina, Druthers Brewing Company, Hattie’s Restaurant, Henry Street Taproom, Kindred, Lucy’s Bar, Rhea, Scallions, The Bourbon Room, The Mercantile, Wheatfields Restaurant & Bar, The Thirsty Owl and Wheatfield's will take part in the Fire & Ice Trail experience.
“We’re thrilled to light up the winter season with an event that brings our vibrant Saratoga community together,” said Todd Shimkus, president of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. “Saratoga Snow Day highlights the warmth of local businesses and invites everyone to explore, shop, dine, and make winter memories in our walkable city.”
The Chamber is partnering with the Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association, Discover Saratoga and the Saratoga Springs City Center to present this first-time event.
