Veterans & Community Housing Coalition Announces Promotion of Johanna Guilfoyle to Director of Community Housing

Ballston Spa, NY – March 29, 2026 – The Veterans & Community Housing Coalition (VCHC) is proud to announce the promotion of Johanna Guilfoyle, CNP, to Director of Community Housing. In this new role, Guilfoyle will oversee VCHC’s community housing initiatives, continuing the organization’s mission to provide safe, stable housing solutions for Veterans and their families.

Guilfoyle has been a dedicated member of the VCHC team since 2018, when she joined the organization as a Case Manager within the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. Through her leadership, commitment, and deep understanding of veteran needs, she advanced to Director of the SSVF Program, where she successfully managed program operations, supervised staff, and led critical grant writing and reporting efforts.

In her new position as Director of Community Housing, Guilfoyle will expand her impact by guiding housing strategy, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality housing services throughout the region.

“Johanna’s growth within our organization has been nothing short of remarkable,” said Diane Nazzaro, Executive Director of VCHC. “Her passion for serving Veterans, combined with her leadership and expertise, make her the ideal person to step into this role and help drive our housing programs forward.”

Guilfoyle’s passion for supporting Veterans began during her service with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, where she volunteered at a Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). That experience sparked a lasting commitment to helping those who have served our country access the resources and stability they deserve.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from State University of New York at Plattsburgh, where she graduated magna cum laude, and a National Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from University of Northern Iowa.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Guilfoyle is an avid outdoors enthusiast. She completed a solo thru-hike of the entire Appalachian Trail, covering over 2,100 miles from Georgia to Maine, an achievement that reflects her resilience, determination, and strength.

“I am incredibly excited to step into this new role and continue working alongside such a passionate team,” said Guilfoyle. “It’s an honor to serve our veteran community, and I look forward to expanding our housing efforts to reach even more individuals and families in need.” For more information about VCHC and its programs, please visit www.vchcny.org.
