Learning the fundamentals of any craft is the first step to becoming a skilled craftsman. In this class students will learn to draw out tapers, split, twist and upset mild steel. Forge weld chain links will be taught as well as how to manage the blacksmiths fire. All the foundational skills of blacksmithing will be demonstrated or discussed in this course. If you have a fundamental curiosity about blacksmithing, this course if definitely for you.

NOTE:  Hard shoes and long pants are required for student safety. Owing to the physical demands and to safety issues, this class is suggested for students 18 years of age and older.
