Candlemaking 102 with Sarah Rodman. #1221-1020. 1/2 Day.

Once students (age 8 and older) have learned the artful tradition of chandlery - candle making - you will be ready to take it up a notch! After reviewing the basics, students will learn how to make specialty candles using a variety of methods and materials. Included will be chunk, ice cube, and layered candles along with decorative elements such as glitter, napkins, paint, stencils and studs. Students will be provided with hot wax, dyes and fragrances to work with. Wear casual work clothes and bring an apron to class as well as used candles, candle stubs, crayons and an assortment of heat resistant/watertight containers such as mason jars, mugs, sea-shells, teacups and vintage glassware.

NOTE:  Students will be working with hot wax, dyes and fragrances. Wear casual work clothes.
