Weaving with reed, students will recreate this antique lidded fishing creel. The basket has an open-work bottom, and the classic drop-in hole in the lid. Students will gain knowledge and experience in hand-shaping techniques, resulting in the classic creel shape. The woven lid is tied on with leather straps on the back, and a carrying strap may be incorporated, if desired. The size of the creel is traditionally a reminder to take only as much as is needed for the day. This creel measures 12" long, 8" wide, 6" high.
